This is why I generally don't engage. There is no evidence of children being "converted" without parental consent. Plenty of evidence that the folks "after the kids" are rich white guys and priests. I don't hear much yelling from your corners at them to leave them alone.
Trans people are not hurting anyone. They simple want to be left to live a good life being who they are, like you, like me, like everyone else.
But, since bigots, racists and phobes have been beaten back by Blacks and LGBTQ+ over the decades, Trans people are the new "deviants" to be rallied against.
I'm Black and I'm old. I've been through it a long time. I've seem the intolerant people repeat the same bullshit lines for each group they try to marginalize. Every single time, it's been lies and fantasies shoved into little soundbites that the stupid and cowardly can digest to distract them from the actual harm being committed on them by the people looking to control them.
It's easy to punch down and to harass and cry about things you don't really understand. You feel you have no control and you need to feel superior to someone. You likely never met a Trans person, so it's easy to make them out to be evil and deviant because you have no experience.
Get out of the bubble and actually meet people. Expand your horizons. Don't get used. Find some actual truth.
I'm pretty certain this won't sway you in any way, but, it's worth a shot.

I'm white and I'm old, and a lot of of this stuff sounded goddamn familiar when it started coming up. It's the same script every time. revolving around "think of the children". Coming from the same folks who won't hesitate to cut budgets meant to help those children just in case it happens to help someone they don't approve of. (And I've watched that happen too, with public school budgets... practically at the front row. Rarely with any compelling reason than a nebulous "budget issue".)
I know piping up and sticking my nose in here is out of place, but f--k there's simultaneously too much and too little imagination at work with these cyclical waves of nonsense coming after [insert marginalized community here]. Been silent most of the other times, so maybe speaking up will help this time. Or not. But I'll feel better speaking up.

Nobody here is even talking about children except you, unspoken6. Besides, if you ever took the time to meet a transgender person (which I recommend you do: those guys are some of the most chill, supportive, friendly, helpful, empathetic and understanding people I’ve ever encountered), perhaps you’d understand that they’re no different than the rest of us in the end.
How you can hate somebody or a whole lot of people just because you don’t know very much about them (and don’t want to, evidently) is utterly peculiar to me. I hope that I never become like that later on in life; holding that huge hacking hunk of hatred in your heart must hurt worse than hell.
