This chapter was hard to write, mostly because it does juggle so many characters and outlooks. Pleasing now that it's done, though.
This is the part in an SMT game where you'd start seeing "aha, the ideological templar" and watching them fall to madness and extremism. I did, in fact, ponder a sort of ending where you'd pick a faction leader and exalt their opinion of the world. Ultimately though, I realized that what's really missing in that sort of story is the protagonist's own agency. The heroes have their own opinions about how things should be. They are a faction. And it's up to them to friendship the heck out of the others, rather than letting everything go to pieces.
I think you'll like where it goes.

Curious to hear which faction you'd be interested in though. Heath's "magic for everyone, you do you" lassie faire sort of deal? Kestrel's "magic as power, tf the world" purposeful anarchy? Preston's structural "magic solves problems, do your duty" gearbox? Or Therion, who just wants to eat a burrito, and all this magic shit has ruined it forever.
