When Gameboysage provided me with the description for A Sly Encounter – Part 133, I was genuinely excited. It offered a rare opportunity to explore a darker, more emotionally charged side of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. In this chapter, Sonic is faced with a haunting image—his father’s lifeless body lying on the ground. I was honestly taken aback by how far Gameboysage was willing to push the narrative. I had originally expected our crossover between SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog and Sucker Punch’s Sly Cooper to be a light-hearted, all-ages story.
Never did I imagine I would be drawing Jules the Hedgehog lying dead—brought down by the ruthless scheming of Dr. Eggman, Dr. M, and Clockwork. What truly resonated with me, however, was Sonic’s reaction to this tragedy. In most media, Sonic is portrayed as a carefree, confident hero who always bounces back with a smile. But in this story, Gameboysage wanted to convey unfiltered rage and deep emotional turmoil—and it was up to me to bring that vision to life through the artwork.
