Why is it always when you're away from home that you want to create art, but you've not taken any supplies with you?

I've been away from home for almost three weeks, and in that time I turned my hand to still life animal pictures; something I've not done for a very, very long time (ten years?). I quite fancied how the sketches turned out, so I did this last night. It's been ages since I've cracked out my watercolours!

I have quite a "sketchy" still life style. I find it quite difficult sometimes to get expressions just right on life studies, and I feel that I can grasp it just that little bit better when I loosen up and let the pen dictate where it's going to spit some ink out.
