We BACK AT IT AGAIN, going absolutely crazy out here
“The heavens split, and fire tore its wound through the dark. In that moment, the world drew breath — and did not exhale again for twenty years.” - Excerpt from Ermetes' History of the Steppeborne, 449AE
In 412AE, the passage of the Warden's Star comet on its hundred year watch coincided with the near prophetic rise to power of a clanless nomad whose true name has been lost to time. For the next two decades a great horde was gathered and unleashed upon the world, only to crumble to infighting and succession crises in the wake of the warlord's early demise at the hands of an illness. Though his birthname is forgotten, the titles of his legend have grown long and mythical:
Oath-Binder, who carries the weight of ten thousand vows; the Chainless Rider who bore no crown nor leash; Thunder's Herald, who speaks before the sky; Tzoraak, the Flame-Walker; Stormwound, whose passage scours the earth; Breaker of Feuds and the Voice-of-All-Camps; Khal of Khals, first and only; Khal'Zuun.
Pictured is "Czterokrotna Łaska" the Fourfold Grace, within the city of Větrzgrad. It depicts the disarming and placating presence of the Martyr, She Who Dared, who was banished by Arceus in -331AE after the Schism concluded. For nearly 600 years the Fourfold Grace has withstood the crushing weight of time, weather, and war. Her form still bears the scars of the last crusade when Větrzgrad was under siege in 493AE, musket ball and sword strikes still as fresh as the day they were inflicted. She stands as a reminder to all faithful there is still one realm the Arcite crusaders had failed to extinguish the flames of, where the last bastion of those who follow "The Ash-Witch", "Progenitor of the First Sin", refuses to fall.

"Dissenters will be sent to Weight Reassignment to be fully taught the virtues of abundance and all that follows - Don't squander what The Famine Generation wishes it could have had." - CIVAFF notice

That bit of worldbuilding with the famine generation bit actually explains a lot regarding why this culture values fatness so much.
My grandfather grew yp in the great depression, and there was hardly any food to eat back then. The trauma was real - even towards the very end, no matter how much food was on his plate, no matter how full he was, he HAD to eat every single bit that was given to him. Grandma actually had to serve him smaller portion sizes.
Beiung hungry is terrible.
