Higher Roller vs Black powder Rifle
"The original broken and heavily eroded rifle was found in an Ex Army-men's house basement in Flatwoods, taken from a military base museum in Gatineau from the Annexation of Canada campaign, reverse engineered and made to use the very potent 12.7mm round, packed with more powder then a .50 cal round, this is an expensive rifle to shoot. but it is literal canon, can be repaired with Muskets, combat rifles, scrap metal." -Gerik Goldstone.
Making its appearance in 2100 in Appalachia, designed as a very high-powered weapon to counter the black powder rifle the wastelanders were using, designed to take down scorch beasts, mirelurk queens, and the very rare sheepsquatch, However, the Price Tag made the common wastelander curl their toes at looking at it, being a staggering 28 times more expensive than the average wastelander could afford with ammo that cost 50 caps a shot, sales of the gun did not come around to be done until 2161 with the rise of supposed Deathclaw sightings near the boneyard, Mercinarys would invest in Lones with the gun maker taking 15% of the catch if they bagged the deathclaws, more so losing the Rifle every time earning the rifle a nickname "high Deaths Rifle" or the Death Roller" becuse of every hunter given the gun never came back and a wastelander would find the gun in a pool of their blood or bloody bones near it, making the rifle be seen as a curse that drew the deathclaws to the owner.
However, a baby deathclaw would be killed by one in 2166, showing firsthand the power of the rifle since it completely blasted the deathclaws head to chunks of bone and mush. Returning the Bone Yard settlement, the hunters told the story to have demands of the rifle crop up, though they would be limited in number, given the high cost of the rifle mixed with the high-cost ammunition. meaning only very powerful and wealthy mercenaries could get one, or a business owner with the means to make a living, while most levied their shipment profits to arm their caravans to protect them. However, demand for the rifle would shrink to near nothing, leaving the maker to make maybe 30 a year for private sales for wealthy Wastelanders looking for big game hunts for trophies or the thrill of hunting large predatory game. Few would end up lost with the hunter getting hunted by their desired prey instead, meaning there are a few of the high Rollers around. You just have to brave deathclaw dens, mirelurk queen nesting zones, and in Gulper ridden swamps, you might even get lucky and find one in a gun shop as one of the shop owners' most desired and expensive weapons to obtain for a "small arms" weapon.
Most models are found where big game hunters would be found, the most dangerous places of the wasteland. Good luck out there. only 750 have been made so far.
