"Raklah!!" A distant voice cries out from somewhere in Transit-Space. Raklah was traveling within it, and quickly twisted around as his body flew towards his destination. He was now spinning with confusion and excitement, searching for it and finding nothing in the blurring ley-lines around him.
No...it couldn't be? Was it another joyful hallucination? A cheery memory ushered in by the shrooms? He hadn't seen his best friend Ezekial in six years, not since that horrid night of lightning strikes, an anxious Boofaly, and attempted memory wipes! There's no way it could be him...but what if it somehow was?? His quivering handpaw drew up towards the crystalline Red-berried Wilderleaf pin, ready to draw an arcane charge.
Raklah had just nearly died in the mountain fall, and saw his 'friend' Sigtin get sent off on a stray vector. The battle was horribly lost before it all went wrong, and he was at the last of his energy after the long delve with Lightleaf's squad. His voices struggled with him, barking back at his desires to stay focused on the task at hand.
"You need to return to Sigtin, you must conserve your energy....you probably really are just hallucinating...after all, you're in a magical portal." They all told him, and then berated and shouted in protest when Raklah fought for his desire and chose to believe.
Pouring the remnants of his magical strength into his fingertips, Raklah plucked from the Wilderleaf a conjured duplicate and held it out in offering towards the source of the voice. On an enchanted search, a vine sprang out from the leaf in his palm and stretched out through Transit-Space behind him. With his back turned to his destiny, Raklah gazed out longingly to watch the vine snake away for hundreds of meters with a simple wish to see his friend once more.
"Zekes?"
Special thanks to my great friend,
Plaguebrought. Without him I wouldn't be making this picture and sharing it.
