Aaaaand we're back with the regular upload pattern after taking a small detour to hastily write a short story I really wanted to make for the last image I submitted. Life has been a bit hectic lately — or rather, it's been approximately the same degree of overwhelming as it's always been, I just sacrificed reuploading artwork in order to try and focus on it better — so unfortunately I haven't been able to post things every second day like I was a while back, but I figure I can still submit these once per week without it eating up too much of my time. Not that it particularly matters or deserves to be in the description because my motivation drive has nothing to do with the artwork itself... maybe one day I'll shake off the compulsion to briefly go over what's happening in my life at the start of these.

This lovely little sketch was illustrated by  hunter_uwu! Featuring my Sawsbuck, August, who appears to be a bit down in the dumps, and Kiva the Torracat, who belongs to  RodonEndwell, and is doing her best to try and cheer him up. She's such a reliable friend! I believe that this was drawn as a request for Rodon as sort of a consolation piece for me back when I was going through some things a couple of years ago. I'm not going to specify and say exactly what those things were, and I've long since moved on from the circumstances that spurred the mood, but yeah. Should be the first time anyone's seen it, since I don't think this was posted anywhere else!

So what exactly is the lore reason as to why August is so sad here? Maybe he's just exhausted and needs a bit of extra comfort to feel better, or maybe he's suffering from a bout of seasonal depression and needs a friend to keep him company. Or maybe he's just faking his despondency in order to receive warm Torracat fire-type hugs... doesn't seem like something he would do, but hey, wouldn't you? ;)
