Bash is the son of Magnus, and certainly takes his inspiration and might straight from his father, but is rather lacking in the self-control and leadership his dad has. Leaving him frustrated that despite being connected to one of the finest of the Peace Keepers, he's treated no different than many other kids his age.
During one of their early encounters, he heard rumors about a really strong dragon by the name of Spyro and wanted to face off against him to prove who's really at the top of the ladder. Unfortunately, the entire fight ended in a humiliating defeat for Bash, as Spyro simply ended up running circles around the rocky dragon, easily tiring Bash out, before a single horn charge sent the large dragon flying against a wall.
Perhaps seeing Spyro as a potential role model to help him get stronger, Bash asked to join up with the purple dragon in hopes that Spyro could implant some of that greatness onto him. While Spyro agreed... he never really promised Bash any of the latter...
Unlike his Skylanders counterpart, Bash can fly, but takes a little too much effort for him specifically, due to his large bulk, making him one of the slowest flyers of his age. To make up for his general lack of speed, Bash has used his large size to roll in a ball, giving him the much needed mobility his legs and wings normally lack, allowing him to launch of ramps with speed! And flatten anything that gets in his path!
Despite his incredible power, Magnus believes that Bash still has a lot to learn, and if he wishes to earn the respect of his father, he'll need to learn to fulfill his duties as a true Peace Keeper, and do so with honor. As he knows his son won't get very far with his current attitude.
Yep, Bash is directly related to Magnus in this AU! It's kinda obvious that he looks like Magnus's son with his design changes. Also due to plot reasons, he can fly, but as I've mentioned above, finds it annoying to do so.
While his current design looks rather plain, I forsee him with his Triceratops Honor Guard armor in the future, especially with what I said about his father wanting him to become a better dragon.
