Based of a SpongeBob related dream I made.
In it, it is revealed that the science-oriented Sandy we knew (and hate or tolerate at best or completely ignored her original characterization if you were born way after SpongeBob came out or have absolutely no culture of it) in the modern SpongeBob turns out to be her time-travelling renowned science prodigy aunt named Hortense Cheeks. Based on what I know, in her youth, she was a time-traveler who takes the name of Sandy. She later named her baby niece after this name. Oh and she apparently looked just like Sandy in her youth. So yeah, going by this, I think we can make some implications of the modern Sandy.
I wonder if the people who turned her into a science geek in the show will freak out if they ever see my comic, that would be such a troll move on my part.

Quite an interesting SpongeBob related dream you had. I’ll admit, this would be quite a twist if this happened to be the case with Sandy. Though, considering how much stuff Nickelodeon has added to the brand(including things that has practically retconned and contradicted previously established lore, much to my personal chagrin), I wouldn’t be too surprised if something like this ends up becoming “canon”.
