Katherine is the mayor of a small town with a population that is 90% Coyote. They run the town council and most of the city services (except for chief of police, notably), and the humans have been none the wiser for a century. But when the Event happens and the Coyotes lose their disguise, it comes as a shock to the human population. And they haven't been the happiest. Then, when her friend is injured by an unknown human assailant, she meets a human who knows more than he's supposed to. And somehow, Katherine feels she can trust him.
