It's july, and each year, in order to participate on artfight, i go on and do one or two references for my own characters. I also wish to be able to draw my own characters more in the near future so that's a start :).
Meet Bennu, my lovely Ancien Egyptian Deity !
And some randoms facts about the boy:
Bennu – ~4500yo – +/- 35 physically // Part human/bird, ancient Deity from who used to live around Iounou (Heliopolis) during the 5th dynasty. Still alive and is currently set in a timeline contemporary to ours (+/- 2020)
• Transgender, no top surgery, he's kept his very flat chest as is because he could.
• Usually goes by He/him, yet he couldn't care less if one calls him "her", unless he feels disrespect in these words. (He's a man you know so, don't push too far.)
• VERY proud of being "a God" even tho contemporary humans don't see him as such. Mostly bitter of any contemporary Deity.
• Very bad earsight , not deaf but can't hear much. Tho has a very good eyesight on the otherhand.
• Nails are extremely sharp if not trimmed to "look like human nails". Can cut thro skin, and he will definitely do.
• Being a pheonix he considers to be immortal. Can cut out organs and the like, they'll grow back. Sells/offers said things to other night creatures (werewolves, vampires...)
• Half his wings have be violently chopped off during a "creature hunt" several centuries ago, still painful to this day. Limbs can't be regrown.
• He will wear normal outfits for the "outside world" but it's not comfy for his feathers. Usually wear either nothing or light skirts/kimonos/light fabrics at home to not damage his precious feathers.
• In the current world, he works in kindergarten, and does very well with kinds. Tell them stories about Gods (the old ones, "the real ones" for him) and they love it. He's very good with words.
• Strongly believes he's unable to have kids because all his attempts has ended badly. For a fact he can't carry a child until the end... but with some help from other ancient Deities, nothing is truely impossible.
