yeah.. he tends to take the idiom "to crawl into the coffee mug in the morning" a bit too literally... And since he's a big snek (about as thick as an average person's thigh) he just can't coil himself tightly enough around an object that small to get himself unstuck. Coil around a person to immobilize them? Sure. But a mug? ehhh... not so much. Which is where the other members of the group come in. And even though the repeating mug-incidents are not intentional on his part, Narayana is not without a sense of humor either. Especially when it comes to meeting new people and prospective group members. This 12-meter snake has a particular flair for combining levitation and invisibility spells. You see, when the last PC joined the party they were in a city far from their base of operations and had rented a pickup to get around - and with space in the cabin at a premium Danger Noodle of course claimed the bed for basking in the sun while the window in the back of the cabin was left open for communication as much as for ventilation. New guy gets in the cabin and after they set off he suddenly feels something tickle the side of his ear. He looks, but sees nothing. Then it happens again and he asks what that is - whereupon one of the other characters tell Narayana to quit playing. In response they just hear "Fine..." and the new guy suddenly finds himself face-to-face (or should I say nose-to-nostril) with the biggest snake he'd ever seen up to that point. In the narrow confines of the cabin of a moving vehicle...
To be fair, Narayana is what in Shadowrun is called a Mystic Adept. Meaning his magical abilities are split between spellcasting and quasi-permanent self-buffs - although he does skew more toward casting and summoning/banishment of spirits.
Essentially he is the magic-support for my players, because many of the players are new to the system, so I recommended them to stick with non-magical characters to keep the amount of new mechanics to a manageable level (didn't keep one of the newbies from rolling up an adept of her own. A drake to be exact. Imagine a person who can transform into a small dracoform (be that Western Dragon, Eastern Dragon, or Winged Serpent). Although it has to be said that "small" is very much relative here. A Drake in its dracoform is still pretty big (guesstimated wingspan of 5-8 meters) It's just that there are significantly bigger actual dragons out there in the world of Shadowrun - and as a drake you'd do well not to catch their interest...
That said, there has been some combination of the abilities of these two: the drake in dracoform carrying Narayana over a wall into a secured compound while the snek was busy banishing a fire spirit that could have thrown a bucket of wrenches into the party's plan to get in and out of that facility.
The scene was reminiscent of a bird of prey having a normal snake in its claws.
