the grand freighter is a desendant of the original frotedark freighter not the siege ship althouhg it uses the same body type and engine block it is far closer to the freighter. obviously being a freighter its main task is to transport goods, for the most part this is correcrt, it is also used to resupply longrange scouts and mooving dread fleets or stations, it also doubles as a troop carrier or collony ship if the need arises

this vessle is around 25% larger than its relative but unlike the original freighter it is almost complealy hollow in the main body so it can carry almost double the cargo and or passenders althouhg this comes at a price, it dose not posses the same sheer mass defence abbility and neither dose it have a large amunition supply as its relative, the weapons clusters on the sides are all that the ship has in the way of its weapons and ammo magazines, around 10 torpedo tubes and same in turrets is all it has...

although they never travle alone... commonly 2 other seige ships and a hand full of other grand freighters will be in a group surrounded by smaller freighters and heavy battleships then another layer of moderate sized vessles... if you want to take one of these down you have to go through its battalion of defenders first
