So, Emilie says you are on board? When your options are live or die, is it really a choice?
Listen up, and listen well.
Orders from above dictate that this operation is coming to a close. Eltyr is on the cusp of finding the object, and STEEL is aware. So we now have the perfect opportunity to slip in.
As you know, they started all-round the clock shifts in this area, so we can't sneak in like you would expect. We will cause a small cave-in nearby that vault door. Only enough to evacuate the area.
Once clear, the cave-in will progress to seal off any and all access points into that part of the department.
Then, Emilie and yourself will be transported inside the isolated zone. Don't worry, she will cover that part.
Once inside, we will get past that door. Brute force if we must. But either here or later on, Eltyr or STEEL will catch on and chaos will erupt.
We anticipate this, and we are no strangers to chaos. So stay near Emilie and do what she says. The both of you are part of our recovery team.
Do what she says, and don't question it. Your life might depend on it. And I'm not saying this towards Emilie, I mean this object. It has great power and potential. You best not fuck around with it.
So, I just stand there looking pretty in the meantime? I don't get the point.
Something Emilie might have forgotten to disclose, is that this object is very reactive to other sources of power. Rumour has it, that it absorbs anomalous power into itself, involuntarily.
It wouldn't be wise for Emilie or others of our ranks to directly interact with the object. So, you not having the various 'enhancements' that we do, and not having any powers of your own should make you the safe bet here.
So I'm a guinea pig? The fuck?
No backing down now. The odds are still favorable to you anyways.
Try and get some rest. Emilie will collect you when its time.
