I volunteer at my local wildlife shelter and finally got time to bring in my camera. I am working on my rehabbing licence for opossums. This is a picture of a baby fox squirrel brought in to the center by his rehabber! I wont be spamming animal pics (well maybe in my scraps), but I thought you guys may enjoy its cuteness. If anyone has requests for pictures of Texas wildlife I can try to post some mammals and birds.
Please no re-posting, or reproducing- thanks :D
obligatory: wild animals do not make good pets, if you see orphaned or injured wildlife call or take them into your local rehab center asap and keep them in a warm dry quiet place- do not offer food or water as it could do more harm then good. :)

I took in a baby squirrel once, but only because our dog happened to chase it down. And I only took care of it long enough to make sure it would survive the trip out to the local wildlife center.
We've also nursed a few baby rabbits and one crow that happened to be hit by a car. x__X; Luckily the crow healed quickly and was flying within a week or so lol.

Ah yeah, we get lots of babies that have been picked up by curious pets- it's always good to take them in because the bacteria in cat and dog mouths can cause some serious infections in birds and baby mammals- it's good you caught it early. :D Rabbits and crows are awesome too- it's good your in touch with your wildlife center, they are great resources with amazingly dedicated people! :)
ve personally raised many possums over the years. In later years I'd save them (literally) from certain death and take them to the rehab center.
Last year I caught a bastard shooting a female squirrel here in the city limits. I called the police and animal control. They didn't witness it but I pressed charges. A year later it's a dead issue and I'm sure it'll never go to trial.
I want to burn that fuck's place to the ground
That image melted my heart and made me cry.

Naww, yay for opossums! :D
Sorry to hear about the jerk killing the squirrels, some people just don't understand that the wildlife was here before we were, and they have as much right to the space and are not just some pest. The best solace is that there are also awesome people out there who love and respect animals and nature.
Anyhow I'm glad you like the pic, and thanks for linking the cute video! :)
