Oh man guys. I painted something. This might be rough, but it feels finished. Yes, it's a dragoness. Yes, it's dripping with things that I personally find appealing--pose, colour, lighting, style, rough finish. Yes, it's inspired by pinup girls, videos of Shakira and Goldfrapp and just glorious female voices and dances and Frank Frazetta's artwork. Yes her feet and tail literally fade away into nothingness (everything I tried futzed the composition) But I actually painted something and finished it.
Finally.
I know there's a lot of dicky stuff with this, and I'd love critique, both because I don't mind reworking this a bit and also because I was to make more like it. Also, should I mature this? I mean...it's suggestive as hell. But there's nothing actually showing.

Thankyou! I was very inspired by the way pinup girls drape themselves over the props/background of an image. I did a few more like these, but may or may not paint them. The original sketch had wings which weren't important to the image, but the one I'm trying now basically depends on them for the gesture and I'm all fffffffwingsarehard. :I
I can't help but think of then as...like hands, but so derived that they're limited in some ways and expanded in others. I always like to keep in mind the purpose, and how the function affects the form--always must remember the basis of the aerofoil, lol. Watching slow motion videos really, really helps with figuring out the flexibility and planes of those surfaces.
I really do like the rough look in this. It's still sharp enough, but the feel keeps my eyes there, focusing on all the detail in and through it~ It took a bigger screen for me to even catch some of it. Had to use a bigger screen to see that tongue, and it brought out even more simple niceties!
