
Ventral view of Scyllarides latus. as you can see, no claws, only ten tough little legs. The primary forms of defence these guys have against predators is camouflage, hiding, and clutching the substrate really, really tightly. Big specimens have been known to withstand forces of up to 150 Newtons before being pried loose.
