Standard Day 112, Standard Year 19,866
Lonely corridors in slow-travel merchant ships make for good places to practice. In this case, an old, long sealed off accessway on this ship. Almost a millennia ago, this ship was a naval supply tender for some now-defunct polity halfway across the galaxy. She still has all her hyperdiamondoid armor and diadamant structure, even if she no longer carries weapons or military grade shields. Now she's a freighter, a slow and plodding one at that, but with the structural strength and integrity of a warship.
It'll be two months before I reach Mannen's Reach, the star I'm headed for, through four stops. This means time to practice. With structure like this and talents like mine, unsealing one of the old armored accessways was simple, done with the Captain's permission. It's a solitary place built solidly enough that I can practice non-causal attacks as well as weapons, cool enough that a Rianth like myself won't overheat, and thus a good place to stretch, limber up, and work myself out.
Much of space travel like this is boring, and I pray it stays that way, whilst I stay in shape for when my combination of talents is needed.
