I've got to do something about these boring titles. I still don't think some of the angles look quite quite right, but I've decided I'm done messing with it for now. I've been experimenting with coloring lately, so I may try to do something with this later.

Do you mean angled to the side, or towards the viewer?
When the paws are angled towards the viewer, it gives them a little more depth and makes the whole thing a little more convincing (when it's done properly, that is). Also, I imagine this guy's leading with the ball of the foot to pin you down.
There's no particular reason why I angled it to the side, and now that I think about it, it seems like a pretty unnatural position. I guess just for visual flair; pictures would get boring if they were always perfectly framed at right angles.
