Ahh, Paranoia Agent. We lost Satoshi Kon far too soon. (Though my introduction to him was with the Magnetic Rose short in Memories, which also introduced me to Yoko Kanno.)
I often wondered what would happen if we ever had a collaboration between Satoshi Kon and Terry Gilliam, since both of them seemed to have such a fascination with blurring the lines between subjective and objective reality.

Paprika was my third... second was Perfect Blue, which the anime club I belonged top at the time went to see on a full theatre screen. Now that's a disturbing movie. No fantasy-tech like Paprika, just a view from inside the head of somebody being driven into a breakdown, and there's a good chunk of it that's like the movie Brazil, where you know some of it only happened in the main character's head, but it's hard to be sure where the Boundary line is.
