This is an alternate version of the Beware of Ancient Shrinking Traps artwork where Riff's sole is all dirtied up from all the exploring he's been doing around Soothewind Plains.
Seems that Cress and Firrin don't particularly mind being caked with dirt under that massive sole, though once the shrinking trap confusion haze wears off, they'll probably regret everything.
Riff on the other hand? He absolutely loves it, no matter what he actually says.

Honestly, I love how the dirt really brings out the contour of Riff's sole here.
