okay so my roomate and I found these guys right after a torrential downpour.
I had just driven home and it was raining so hard I could barely even see the road lines. These little babies were out in that huddled up between a stack of tires and a fence.
We brought them in, sopping wet, dried them off and warmed them up.
They look pretty healthy. Pretty solid, cant really feel their bones, and dont appear to have any eye or ear problems.
Only thing is, we are having a sort of hard time getting them to eat and use the bathroom. Ever since we brought them in all they want to do is sleep even if food is right in front of them. I bought them some wet kitten food last night, this morning they still hadnt touched it. So I went to the store and bought them some kitten formula. I got about .1 oz of formula down between all three of them. Then I put them down by the wet food again. The two brown ones ate a little bit but the grey one still refuses food. And of course, they havent used the bathroom since we brought them in yesterday at 4 PM, and its now 12:30 PM the day after.
If I had to guess, they are like, 5 wks old, but they are REALLY wobbly, which is weird. They are still working on their muscle control. But they just wobble over to each other and curl into a little wobbly ball where they stay until someone moves them.
SO! Anyway, they need good homes.
I live in Louisiana and am willing to deliver to anyone between the lafayette and baton rouge area.
Also, Read here about my attempt at a Spaynation fund for the stray cats in our neighborhood so I dont keep finding kitty babies to have to home!

It would also be really cool, if you could help me spread the word.

Oh gosh they're so cute! D:
I wish I could get one...
But, one thing you might try to help them go to the bathroom is take a baby wipe or a wet paper towel, and just gently wipe their butts. I know it sounds really weird, but kittens are usually stimulated to have to go by the mother cat licking them.
Best of luck in finding these cuties a nice home. Poor dears.

I've already done that with a lukewarm cotton ball right after they nibbled at their food and put them right in the littler box. They wobbled around in there for a little bit and then found their ways back out onto their little blanket back into a kitty ball where they still remain.
Aw gee I'd love to take one of these guys but I'm far, far away from you :c
I had to look after kittens that we found in our back yard that were only a few days old [my dog scared the mother off and unfortunately she didn't come back]. We ended up keeping them for a while until we found someone who could take care of them better then us.
It takes a little while for them to get used to the kitten formula as well. It took our ones a few days, but something is better then nothing. And with the whole toilet thing... well i know it may sound disgusting but you'll have to get some tissues and rub their privates until they 'go' lol.
Anyway I wish you the best of luck with these guys and finding a home for them as well!

Yeah, I tried that already with a lukewarm cotton ball. It didnt work. =< But I'll keep trying every few hours until I have to go to work.
I figured everyone on FA who'd want a kitten probably doesn't live anywhere near me, but I thought it just might be worth a try! ^^
Thanks!

Their eyes have not even changed yet, so they must be younger than 5 weeks. Possible 3 weeks, depending on the size. So they may still want to drink formula and not eat food just yet. Especially if they are that wobbly, they're just wee babies still. Try bugging them about every four hours to drink and keep trying after each attempt for them to use the bathroom. It may be a couple more weeks before you can get the adopted out. Perhaps a shelter or someplace around you can care for them if you can't keep them? I'm in north Georgia, otherwise I'd try to help and take them off your hands.
Theyve been pretty bundled up in a super thick really fuzzy blanket so I'm pretty sure they are warm enough. =3
I'm judging their age after the other kitten that we just tried found a few weeks ago. My boyfriend decided to take him so I brought him to the vet. They told me he was about 4 weeks old. By now hes 6 weeks and I just saw him last weekend, and these guys rival his size. So Idk if the other kitten was just REALLY small or if these guys are just fking huge. They are pretty solid too, they have some weight behind them for being so small.
My roomate doesnt want me to drop them off at the shelter because she said "Being that they are kittens they have a pretty good chance of getting adopted.... BUT WHAT IF THEY DONT!? Or... even if they do.... WHAT ABOUT ALL THE ADULT KITTIES?!" -.- so shes tying my hands on that one.
I'm sure they are just a little scared still. New place, new food, new smells, and people, which theyve never had contact with before. I wont give up on them though. =3 I dont mind hanging on to them for a few more weeks until they are acting like kitties should. =3
I'll probably get attatched to one and end up keeping it if I do that. >.>

Aww, lol Thank you.
My god an hour old! I wouldnt know what to do with them either!
I just got a ml of formula into the little grey one that wasnt eating.Though shes the biggest one. The other two prefer formula mixed wet food. =3 I've seen a vast improvement since last night. So I'm satisfied that they will continue to improve. ^^

These little babies look a little young to be on solids which is probably why they didnt touch it but opted for the formula. I would keep up feeding the formula to them. Do they have any teeth? If so how big are they? They are going to want to sleep a good bit but after they feel safe and rested their appetites should come back. Im suprised the mamma wasnt around, then again she could be dead so its good you picked these guys up, especially being so young. They look about 4 weeks old.
If you need help with these babies let me know and ill see what I can do. You know theres a funny story about the Tabby cat's "M" you see on their forheads. Folklore says Mary put her first initial on their foreheads as a mark of gratitude for keeping baby jesus warm. lol.

By now hes 6 weeks and I just saw him last weekend, and these guys rival his size now. So Idk if the other kitten was just REALLY small or if these guys are just fking huge. They may be 4 weeks, I just rounded to the center week because I def dont think they are 6 weeks, but they are the size of the other 6 week old kitty. They are pretty solid too, they have some weight behind them for being so small. They do have teeth, but they are itty. I'll still keep trying to feed them formula, but if they would rather have the wet food instead then I wont stop them. At this point they need to eat whatever they can get in their tummies.
There was a cat nearby. I've seen it around before without kittens WITHIN the past 4 weeks. So idk. It might have been mamma but with all the strays in our neighborhood its tough to tell. Also I dont need these kitties growing up and having more kittens OR running around in the roads and getting hit by cars. =< Fuck, if each of these babies has 4-6 kittens, thats like......Oh god I cant handle that many kitties.
I always heard the M was for Maine Coon. XD But many more kitties than the Maine Coon have that mark.

I think the age range is right. Get whatever you can into their tummies. They might even like a mix of the soft food and formula. The mamma was probably still alive then if they were this solid and its very possible the cat you saw was it. I hope she doesnt grieve for them. It makes me sad to think about :<
Maine coons are pretty rare, especially for a stray its unlikely. These are probably tabby mixes. American Short hairs or what not.

I have mixed a little formula with their wet food. I want them to have both. lol But they havent eaten it yet.
I dont want her to grieve either. =< But I honestly think its for the best.......
I think this guy is daddy. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f.....=1&theater
He "lives" across the street. We feed him and call him Sawyer. The people across the street CLAIM to own him. She said she brought him down from Tennessee, but hes always coming to US for food. He has no collar, and the woman across the street kept calling him a she, and said HER name was TILLY even though he has a set of balls firmly attatched to his backside. So I think she just doesnt fucking care.

Tom sawyer! I remember him! He was there when I left and you told me about him. The lady accross the street is trippin. She doesnt know what the f shes talking about especially if she doesnt know his damn gender. geez...besides you cant claim ownership of an animal if you dont take care of it. What a retard. lol! She probably doesnt give a shit, but is jealous of you for some dumb reason and is making shit up. Im sure that cat has lived in LA his whole life.
I agree. I was going to include him in the three cats I was trying to raise money for to do a T&R for. I consider him a stray. My friend, but a stray.I think shes jealous because he was in her yard, but when he heard me open the door across the street he bolted over to me.
Want to T&R Three cats in the neighborhood (One of which I havent seen in a while, so maybe just two cats if one has disappeared) Its $40 per cat to T&R, and I need to find homes for 2, maybe three of the kittens.
I might want to keep one. Im trying not to let myself get attatched, but I can afford to have a cat. I'm just still trying to decide if I want to do the litterbox thing.

you cant potty train them to go outside so you dont have to do the litterbox thing. Also as long as you take care of them, feed them and give them love they wont run away. I used to have a ton of cats that were all outsiders, strays really, but they stayed around the house because i took care of them. lol!
You never know though, some people may be very knowledgeable with young kitten care who are interested. Besides, you really need to create a new ad almost every day, or else yours gets lost in the flood of pet ads quickly. You can always create/update the ad as they get more stable.
to help them go to the bathroom wipe there bottoms with a luke warm piece of napkin it will stimulate them to go to the bathroom....and for the grey kitten to get it to eat warm up the food for about 5 to 10 sec not to get it hot but enough to get it to smell a bit more (this warmth/smell will stimulate her to eat) Good Luck and the grey one is just adorable!
um hello i live in abbeville....and i have a duaghter she is a solid white kitty...i wish they were dogs i would have loved one but my motherly side just wants me to take them all....but my grand paw would literaly have kittens if i just randomly have a new cat in the house.....what i am saying is ..i dont know i might want one....i will have to think about it....
They are three weeks old. I have hand raised kittens that young. You need to hand feed them with an eye dropper and whiska's kitten milk and you MUST take a warm, wet cloth and wipe their bottoms to make them go potty otherwise they die. I have seen it happen. They will roll on their back and tell you when they need to be wiped. They will die otherwise. They cannot digest solids for another at least THREE weeks. You shouldn't give them away in this state, take them to a vet or shelter if you cannot take care of them properly yourself. the milk is cheap, and you need to look up how much to feed them. The one on the end looks like it's eyes opened maybe two days before you got them.
Warm, wet cloth to the backside until they potty.
Warm kitten milk in an eye dropper for the next 2-3 weeks.
Otherwise you will lose them. Again, I have raised many kittens and some younger than this.

I've been doing the cloth thing with a warm cotton ball. I bought them formula. Directions are on the package. I have a bottle, I warm up the formula.
Never heard the thing about the wet food but upon research came across this.
Determine the age of the kitten to see if he or she needs to be bottle-fed or can start immediately on soft food:
Eyes closed, ears folded over - kitten is 1 - 14 days old
Eyes are open, kitten moves around but is wobbly - 2 - 3 weeks old
Eyes are open, ears up, can walk around - 3 - 4 weeks old
Running around and is difficult or impossible to catch - 4 - 8 weeks old or older.
1 - 3 weeks old - will need to be bottle-fed.
3 weeks and older - can be offered soft food, but may need to be bottle-fed.
If they were 3 weeks in the photo, then they are 4 weeks now. They are not, and have never been on straight wet food. I've offered them wet food mixed with formula if they want it. (They do) But I still bottle feed them as well.
Also, we just found another one about an hour ago. Same age, same size, same build. We put him with his litter-mates (We heavily assume) They are all warm and snuggly. =3
I dont want to give them away just yet because of their needs. I'd have at least kept them until they were 6-8 weeks old had someone here wanted to adopt them. I havent yet put up adds in my local town because I didnt want someone to say "I WANT HER NOW!". But I think I'm going to give them to the vet and let them adopt them out. I may keep the grey one though, and my boyfriend wants to keep the one we just found.

Working with kittens, and working with professionals and VETS, they say NO wet food until they are at least 6 weeks old. It also gives them very bad gas and can cause bloatation problems. Also, if you look at the way this person determines their age "running around and is difficult or impossible to catch - 4 - 8 weeks old or older." This is NOT how you determine age. You open their mouth and check for their teeth. If they have back molars then they are 7-8 weeks old and that's when you should sell them. NEVER give them away for FREE. There are sickos out there and anyone SERIOUS about a kitten will pay.
Take them to the vet, I am 90% sure they will have worms especially if you found them in the street. Even if you can't see it in their stool there are many kinds of worms. Get them vet checked, get them their first vaccinations, and charge the people getting the kittens for the cost of the check and vaccination. They will be happy they don't have to do it themselves. The first vaccination should be at 8 weeks old and that's when you should be selling them. I use to work in a very renown pet store and we did this every day. We had fed kittens or put them up for adoption but didn't let them go until they were 8 weeks and got their first vaccination. It is very important for the safety of not only the animal, but the home they are going to too. We have had many kittens come in and die because of diseases they caught just on their way to us, and yes they were old enough to be vaccinated. Parvo is one of the big ones. And that spreads. But for indoor kittens the risk is small until you go outside. Never let them in the grass until they've had both sets of shots at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. (Unless you have a back yard that no other cat, coon or animal walks through and leaves urine or fecal matter that can cause disease) Dogs have 3 sets.
Nearly every vet, professional breeder, and cat specialist I've ever talked to says not to give the kittens out until they are 8 weeks old. they are still liter dependent AND it makes them less skiddish and if another cat comes along in the future it gives much better chances they will love it instead of hate it and piss all over everything (Totally serious about that too.)
When you look up information, especially on the web, visit at least 30 sites and make sure most of them are by professionals. Some by vets as well.
Also, if you give a kitten wet food, stay away from the canned stuff. Try something like this: http://s.petco.com/assets/product_i.....344890805C.jpg It is solid chunks of meat and there is no processed stuff to give them bad stomach aches and gas. I'd stick with chicken and fish. Beef and dark meats are hard on kitten and puppy's tummies.
Again, I've had years of experience with this stuff and looking up things online, you gotta be extra careful.

Doing pretty good. I've decided to keep the grey one. We bonded over a night where she nearly died. >.<; I was out of town and they were in my roomates care for 1.5 days. I came home, changed and went right to work. When I got home from work that night I noticed that she threw up next to the litterbox, peed where she sat, and then passed out with her head on the litterbox. When I picked her up her head was just limp. She wasn't looking around and her tongue was sticking out of her mouth slightly. Naturally, I was alarmed. I asked my roomate "When is the last time you wiped them?!" She said "Its..been a while.." Which, in her language means "I haven't since you left" So I asked her "How was she acting while I was at work?!" She said "A little lethargic then, too." So Iw as like "Great, just great! Thanks for doing something about it! Now she's almost dead!" I called the emergency vet, and asked how much it would be just to have her seen. $95. just to have her seen. That doesn't include the problem. I just don't have that kind of money no matter how much I want to save this kitten. So I stimulated her to go to the bathroom for a very long time. She was really grumpy about it and was meowing at me and wriggling. She finally defecated but it seemed like she was only getting worse. I kept wiping her but, nothing. I called the emergency vet back and explained the situation again. She told me if she already defecated once, and I'd been stimulating her for a while, to just let her rest and don't try again until after she ate. So I let her sleep but I was so terrified that she wouldn't wake up. But she did. Woke up and started to look around. Then she started batting at my fingers, then she sat up, and eventually started zooming around. I stayed up and watched her for like 2 more hours just to make sure that she was going to be okay, and then I let her sleep with me that night so I could monitor her. I cried that night. lol She seems to know I saved her life and is very attatched to me now. =3 I named her Slug. XD
The 4th kitten that came in after these pictures were taken has found a home with some friends of mine. He's larger than the rest. He's going to be a BIG boy! He is aptly named War, for the war paint-like markings on his face.
The girl tabby has found a home with the lady down the street. She's a late bloomer though and is having a hard time understanding eating, so she hasn't gained as much weight as the others. She used to be the 2nd smallest (Although not by much) But now the runt is bigger than she is. lol She keeps trying to suckle the food. Which, doesn't work, obviously. But she's slowly getting there. Just have to be patient with her. =3
The boy brown tabby (The used to be runt, and now second smallest) is doing well. Seems to be food possessive. He's a little pig. lol When I try to take a nearly empty bowl away to put more into it, he cries and hangs on to the food bowl for dear life. haha. And when he eats, he takes up the WHOLE damn bowl so the others don't have any room to get in. xD Piglet! He doesn't have a home yet though. So I don't know what I'm going to do with him...
Thanks for checking up! That was sweet. =3

I know right? -.-;
She's attentive to her computer, that's what. They need to be fed every 4 hours. My shift at work is 5. The other day she lied to me about feeding them right after I left. I fed them dry food right BEFORE I left. She told me she fed them, but there wasn't a new can of wet food missing. She noticed me realize that and said "oh I fed them leftovers that were in the fridge". K first of all, I fed them those earlier. Secondly, there's 4 kittens. Half a can or less of leftovers doesn't feed 4 kittens. And thirdly, there was no evidence that their dry food had gotten wet....... So I asked her again....."are you SURE you fed them?"
"yeah"
So I said "whatever" and fed them anyway.
