This is the highest transistor count for a pocket AM transistor radio that I have. It is an Americana model KP-16 made in the mid 1960s. The radio is still working with all of its original parts.
Many of the transistors in this radio are only bridging contacts in the radio.

This rule aimed to prevent deceptive practices where companies misrepresented the number of transistors a radio set contained. The rule specifically addressed situations where "dummy transistors" or transistors used in non-functional ways were included in the stated count.
