A recognizable sight for any Fromsoft fan or gamer even slightly aware of modern stuff. Demon’s Souls walked so DS1 could run, but the foundations can’t be ignored. Archthrone was nice, especially given the atmosphere. But this right here inspires comfort. Immediate comfort.

Except in certain cases where it is not what you think. Looking at you, DS2. Times of going through hellish runbacks, terrible enemies or layouts, and so on. Frustration, fear, distraught, cautious, so on and so forth. So many emotions conjured from seeing this, let alone resting at one. Not all bonfires are in fair spots. Some are designed to trap you in terrible situations.

Nevertheless, a video game staple. One that conjures reflection and contemplation in my eye. What are you building for? Want to repair or swap weapons from storsgd? Refreshing spells? Estus refill? One last checkpoint to end the session? Reached the end and knowing you can go prepare and come back seamlessly for one last battle? Want a safe place to AFK? Whatever answer is valid. Just know the fire will always bring warmth.
