A gift from WandaLioness for me in response to my journal, telling the story of my DeviantArt account's demise. Their OC Caroline tries to comfort my OC Kiburi. Seeing this brings back many memories.

In my fanfiction, Kiburi also needs a lot of comfort. There, he loses his son and wife under unknown circumstances, and even after almost a century, he still suffers from it. Thankfully, they are reunited later in the story.

But even outside of it, I feel sorry for Kiburi and all my other OCs. Because of my decision to leave DeviantArt, they lost their home. The place where they were brought to life no longer exists. 😢

But it also describes how I felt at the beginning of the year, during the first few days after my DeviantArt account was gone. I had been told that even after the final shutdown, the account can still be used, but this turned out to be wrong. Instead, I have completely lost access. My password is no longer accepted, and a recovery link doesn’t reach me. This means my entire account with everything inside it, basically everything from before 2025, is forever lost. What a nightmare this is… 😭

But at least for the comic, which caused all this, there's new hope. In October 2024, I had a brief conversation with an artist who's also active here, and at the beginning of July, they opened up commissions again. So I immediately reestablished contact, and the comic is actually getting another chance. 😃 By the time I’m writing this, work on it has already started. I don't have an exact price yet. I only know that the price's range will be somewhere between $300 and $500. Cross your fingers that this time it makes it across the finish line. 🤞

Ein Geschenk von WandaLioness für mich als Reaktion auf meinen Beitrag, welcher die Geschichte des Untergangs meines DeviantArt-Kontos erzählt. Dessen Charakter Caroline versucht, meinen Charakter Kiburi zu trösten. Bei diesem Anblick werden bei mir viele Erinnerungen wach.

Auch in meiner Fanfiction braucht Kiburi viel Trost. Dort verliert er seinen Sohn und seine Frau unter unbekannten Umständen, und selbst nach fast einem Jahrhundert leidet er noch immer darunter. Zum Glück werden sie später in der Geschichte wieder vereint.

Aber auch außerhalb davon tut es mir für Kiburi und all meine anderen Charaktere leid. Durch meine Entscheidung, DeviantArt zu verlassen, haben sie ihr Zuhause verloren. Der Ort, an dem sie zum Leben erweckt wurden, existiert nicht mehr. 😢

Es beschreibt aber auch, wie ich mich zu Beginn des Jahres fühlte, in den ersten Tagen nach der endgültigen Schließung meines DeviantArt-Kontos. Man hatte mir gesagt, dass das Konto auch nach der endgültigen Schließung noch nutzbar sei, aber das stellte sich als falsch heraus. Stattdessen habe ich überhaupt keinen Zugang mehr dorthin. Mein Passwort wird nicht mehr akzeptiert, und ein Wiederherstellungslink erreicht mich nicht. Das bedeutet, mein gesamtes Konto mit allem, was darin war – im Grunde alles von vor 2025 – ist für immer verloren. Was für ein Albtraum… 😭

Aber zumindest für den Comic, welcher all das verursacht hat, gibt es neue Hoffnung. Im Oktober 2024 hatte ich ein kurzes Gespräch mit einem Künstler, welcher auch hier aktiv ist und Anfang Juli hat dieser wieder Commissions geöffnet. Also habe ich sofort den Kontakt wiederhergestellt und tatsächlich bekommt der Comic eine neue Chance. 😃 Zum Zeitpunkt, als ich das hier schreibe, hat die Arbeit daran bereits begonnen. Ich habe noch keinen genauen Preis. Ich weiß nur, dass die Preisspanne voraussichtlich irgendwo zwischen 300$ und 500$ liegen wird. Drückt mir die Daumen, dass er es dieses Mal über die Ziellinie schafft. 🤞
