Eve stepped over the tree line. Her burning yellow eyes scanned the ground below until she found a tiny, human. They locked eyes, as she slowly licked her lips, a silent promise of what was to come.

She was watching the little man about to make her move when he suddenly lunged towards her toe and latched on in an act of sheer survival. She could feel the little man’s fingers clinging to the ridges of her toe. The strange, ticklish pressure made Eve pause. Confused, she lifted her foot, dangling the man high in the air.

Most humans ran from her, yet this one had grabbed onto her. "How foolish", she thought with a flicker of annoyance. He wasn't making this easy for her.

With a playful smirk, she began flexing and wiggling her toes. She suddenly brought her foot down with great force that shook the earth. She felt his small body pressed firmly beneath the pad of her toe. A deep thud echoed through the clearing as she pinned him, the immense weight trapping him in place. She could feel him struggling, a tiny human, determined to escape squirming under her immense toe.

Satisfied, Eve slowly squatted, her immense weight shifted, the pressure on the man beneath her toe increased, and he let out a tiny gasp. She gently lifted her toe, revealing the small man lying on his back, winded. He stared up at her, trapped and tiny. She reached down with her index finger and thumb, carefully plucking him from the dirt. Bringing him up to her face, she smiled and with a quick flick of her wrist, she tossed him into the back of her throat and swallowed him whole, a satisfying lump sliding down her long neck.

In the end, all that struggle was for nothing, she thought. He still ended up just as a snack.
