First commission of Anthrocon 2025, here we have "Layla Harris" and "Werner Von Clog" being carried piggyback upon the shoulders of "Kelly Harris" and "Mickey Underhill", into a deep mud pool. It looks pretty apparent that Kelly and Mickey have done this before, as they're completely unbothered by being chest-deep, and probably deeper under the weight of the kids they're carrying. Layla is gleeful at the prospect of getting down and dirty in the seemingly bottomless mud, while her companion Werner is somewhat nervous as his "ride" appears to sink deeper and deeper into the slurping, bubbling muck with no end in sight (even though he knows how to swim and is no stranger to being underwater)
Technical:
This pic contains four unique characters, which at first glance made it quite challenging time-wise, but fortunately it commenced on the first day of the con, and two of the characters are only visible from the chest up (I discounted those two :D ). Another tactic I employed was to use a flat-panel lightbox on the first-draft sketch. This allowed me to generate a clean-pencil version that I could ink with minimal erasure needed afterwards. For posting here on FA, I pulled the scanned .BMP I saved in the 'Alley' (I carry an "ultrabook" Lenovo Yoga X1 and USB-powered Canon flatbed scanner) into Clip Studio, and cleaned up the scan, fixing linework and anatomical errors, then cropped the image to better fill the page.
Brush-inked pencils on bristol, Cleaned + tweaked in Clip Studio Paint EX. Single layer, 4.45mb .CLIP file derived from 24MB .BMP scan. Project ID #539

Well, in Werner's defense, being undermud is more than a bit different from being underwater. Lucky for him, he has three experienced mud boggers to ensure their muddy swim doesn't come to a sticky end.
Thank you ever so much for this again, RailRide. It's absolutely magnificent.
