This is John! Now with a cleaner, more informative refsheet made with Kero_Tzuki_ 's wolf base. You can buy the base here -> https://garoline.sellfy.store/p/hmb4/
What is he?: John is a wolf-like, biomechanical android that is mostly made from a blend of organic and carbon-based materials such as kevlar-like skin and plates, special ceramics and nature-inspired composites. Every component, from his muscles and bones to his modules, organs and processing units, have been made with advanced 3D printing techniques at microscopic level. He has no DNA nor conventional cells, but he's classified as a synthetic lifeform.
Lore and Background:
John was activated in a facility inside Vanguard Bio-Synthetics, a robotics subsidiary of the Vanguard Group. His designation was EXP-13-05, but his colleagues soon chose to name him John. As the fifth and most functional prototype of his series, he was intended as a radical product with incredible precision, strength, and adaptability, yet bound by a moral code.
This feature was instilled by his primary creator and mentor, Tao, a brilliant but somewhat eccentric programmer and roboticist that was part of the interdisciplinary team that brought John to life. While others on the team focused on John’s physical capabilities, Tao was responsible for shaping his mind and moral compass.
John’s early days were spent in the controlled environment of Vanguard Bio-Synthetics, where he underwent rigorous testing and training. He was programmed to handle everything from routine security tasks to high-stakes combat scenarios. Yet, despite his combat readiness, John’s core programming made him deeply uncomfortable with the idea of taking a life. Even in simulations, the act of neutralizing a target left him with a sense of unease. Tao often reassured him that his systems were extremely reliable, but John couldn’t shake the feeling that the rest could one day see his ethical precepts as a flaw.
And he was right. Despite John’s advanced capabilities, not everyone within the organization agreed with Tao’s vision of a security android bound by a rigid, no-kill principle. Because of that, John was reprogrammed to be able to terminate threats, dismissing his mentor’s protests. This tension within the company eventually came to a head, when the synth was deployed to his first actual mission.
It was supposed to be a straightforward operation; A Vanguard representative needed to go through a town located inside a dangerous zone, and the android had to keep the active safe until they arrived at their destination. Things went terribly wrong. A kid armed with a makeshift rocket launcher approached the car and John, instead of using his gun, tried to pin him against the ground. The child fired before he could be reached by the android and the vehicle was blown up, killing the representative.
The fallout was immediate. After a thorough investigation, the company found out John managed to override his latest update before the mission, thanks to a failsafe implemented by his mentor. Both were blamed for the loss of the representative and dismissed from the company in favor of a new engineer, and a newer, more ethically flexible prototype.
Now, John lives a new life with Tao. As a still active prototype, John will either seek a way of living that aligns with his values or look for one that doesn’t compromise them. His mentor will provide technical and emotional support, as well as life experience. After all, he still has a lot to learn about the world.
