Two Landies stood on a grassy hill overlooking the large town ahead. A beautifully constructed place where men and beasts were welcome. They had been here before multiple times. Starting when they were only a few years old. It was a second home when not roaming the land with their herd. This was a time of celebration. When the town was decorated with lights, banners and all things beautiful. Contests and competitions for man and beasts alike were held. With unique awards granted to its winners.
"Almost there. I can already smell the food. I miss the roasted apples!" The first sister tilted her head back, nostrils flared to try and catch that smell.
The second sister snorted. "All you think of is food!"
"Yes!" The first replied with a laugh as she nuzzled her sister. "But first we should have your eye looked at. I am sure there’s a healer here who can help."
"Only after the carriage contest!" The answer given as the nuzzle was returned. "I won't risk missing it and letting someone else win."
The first made a face. "Imagine if it’s the Girvin brothers."
A groan before the second answered. "We would never hear the end of it."
"So let’s get going then!" The first thumped her sister’s side before bolting forward.
The second followed and nipped at her sister’s tail as they galloped to town. Both eager to join the celebration.
