TRANSCRIPT

Some days later, I believe on the 28th, I let curiosity get the better of me. I pulled 'Emilie' aside to settle some questions I had. Interestingly enough, she seemed surprised about this move.

First question, was to ask how she knew of my mission, and how much of it. She said she knew everything, at least everything as I did. She knew I would come here, all for the chance to find that rogue STEEL agent in Paradise. The only thing she didn't 100% know, was why I was going as far as I was to do so.

I was a little ticked from that, but I didn't humor her with an answer. Next was to ask what she wanted with the STEEL agent. She didn’t directly respond, just said "The same as you I figured". So she is also after the group of rogue wielders. But for me, I want to find them out of safety, and be gone from people like X0-C3. Her? Seeing what she did to #40, I can guess.

Third question was to ask how long she had been watching me. The response? Pretty much from the start, but had prioritized #40 over me as she was still an active STEEL agent. Personal vendetta took priority. But as to why she let me go at the Nest, it was because I became a curiosity to her. I had no powers, yet was becoming a thorn in STEEL's side. It intrigued her enough to let me go. Anything against STEEL, it seems.

But then I asked the one question that I thought I would regret, but still asked all the same. After a moment of pause, I asked her just what STEEL did to her that disfigured her so.

She looked at me, her eyes slowly shifting into one of sadness and pain, told me it was best not to know, and let what I saw of her body speak for itself. Don't know what pushed me to persist for an answer, but I did.

She told me in a somber tone that now wasn't a good time. But if I was serious, then I should be patient for a few days. She walked off without another word.
