Here is Rafaela Pereira. She's a Dassault Rafale aeromorph. She might be a bit chubby but she just thinks that makes her cuter. She can also detach her head.
After drawing a rough sketch of a Rafale aeromorph I decided to develop the sketch further into a drawing and turn her into a character. I found a lot of difficulties in how many details I should show before the drawing becomes too complex (including how I should panel her body). The ears I started by making them look more tail fin inspired but I instead decided to make the ears look more canine (I know I could've turned the canards into ears but I liked the idea of having the canards coming out of the sides of her face). For the back of her head I wanted to see if it was possible to draw an aeromorph with something resembling hair. In my rough drawing I used small wings but when developing the drawing I found that the small wings didn't work when figuring out how they would look in three dimensions. Then I thought about something like air vents or exhausts but again they didn't really work as they seemed too large to attach to the head. Then I decided to try a banded metal dreadlock look inspired by the various depictions of a Metal Knuckles and that seemed to work. Another problem I had was with her feet, it took me too long to figure out how to draw her legs and how to give the legs and the feet a mechanical look. In the end I just gave her large canine paws (the idea is that's where the landing gears are stored). This is another drawing where I ended up at the edge of the page, so that's why the end of the right wing looks shaded.
As I was drawing her I did get a few more ideas for drawings involving her. One is to show her head detached. Another is to show her carrying detached heads on her hard points. I also have one or two more ideas for other aeromorph characters.
