There is an old story about how when children sleep, their toys come to life to defend them from monsters and to protect them from nightmares.
I always thought that myth soothing.
So I tried to create a series based on that.
But for me anyway, anthropomorphizing toys was pretty damn hard. I drew several images in the series, but in the end, only two turned out reasonably well. This was one of those. (I shared the others as line art already.) Trying to find that balance between plush and 'toy-like' was actually quite hard. But eventually I settled on a look I liked.
This one has a teddy bear ready to box it out with the creatures of the nightmare universe.
