In 1961 a caricature of a cabro beach bus popped up in the newspaper of the Budapest Bus Transport company. A few months later the roofs of three Ikarus 630s were removed. These buses quickly became popular with tourist and they operated until 1975,when they were scrapped.
Around 2007 a replica cabrio was built from a former Eastern German bus. Since than the Cabrio Ikarus 630 is the fanciest heritage vehicle in Budapest.
