Here's a sensationally spicy sauce to zap up your breakfast egg menu from the kitchens of
talimar
So I'm a HUUUGE fan of
faccc And I figured I'd attempt to submit something for their approval that I thought up for breakfast. This is 100% original and delicious for the spicy food-lovers!
Ingredients:
Eggs, as many as you want, prepared however you want (I did mine over easy, because omnom over-easy eggs)
3Tbsp butter or margarine or other like-minded substitute
Enough flour to make a roux with
1/2 of a small onion, minced
2 cups Heavy cream + extra in case it's still too thick
1 cup cheddar cheese (Colby Jack or Pepper Jack would probably work just as well)
1/2 a small tube of Chorizo (Wal-mart even sells this stuff, so get a 8oz pack of it and use half. More chorizo = meater and spicier!)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1. Fry off the chorizo with a little bit of butter or oil. Don't cook it too much - you want it to stay soft and workable, not get hard and crumbly. Set aside.
2. In a small pot, melt the butter and slowly fold in the flour to make a roux (if you don't know what a roux is, now would be the opportune time to google it. It's just a light paste made of flour and butter, used as a thickening agent.)
3. Once the roux is golden brown, incorporate the heavy cream slowly, whisking to make a uniformly thick sauce. Some people heat the heavy cream first, I don't think it matters, it's gonna get warm anyway, lol. If it's too thick or you made too much roux, add a bit more until it's a thick saucy cream.
4. Add the minced onion to a separate frying pan and saute until soft and translucent. When done, add it to the sauce.
5. Sprinkle in the cheese and fold it in, until the sauce has a nice bit of ooey-gooey cheeziness. :3
6. add in your chorizo. Whip it all together until it gets that lovely dark-orange color. Always taste before adding your salt and pepper, and be as liberal with it as need be for your tastes.
7. Try to make your plate pretty so no one thinks you really just heap it on the plate like a slob and devour it. ^_^
For something I made when I was hungry and wanted to whip some stuff together, this came out delightfully spicy and cheesy for my eggs. Thanks for reading! Enjoy the good foods. :3
