Hello there!
So- How could I start this... For the past few months (if not for a year already) I followed multiple sites and pages that uploads works and WIPs of repainted and/or resculpted horse models (mostly Breyer horses), and I am in love with the idea. These artist do beautiful job on their works and it inspired me to try out something similar.
So as said, I have started experimenting on Schleich horses to repaint them as my beloved horse characters. Nailah was the first one to make, maybe I'll upload that result too in a while... but for now, let me show you my second creation, this donkey male. He is not Schleich or a well-known brand, I think it is a no-name branded cheap toy base, but it was perfect for experimenting. I made some minor adjustments on the body itself with modeling clay (mostly on the face cuz the nose looked a bit weird), and then repainted the whole model. I used some pictures as reference/ inspiration from the internet (I'm in love with pinto markings).
It was so much fun to make and I am pretty much satisfied of the outcome. Especially with the progress I feel already of my brushwork, it is surprisingly different from digital drawing that I am used to haha.
How do y'all like it? ^^
