Okay I have the base coloring done and the placing of the fur on her body. So what's next? I'll be beginning the long work with real CG shading. I have mostly done cell shading with my characters, but now I think I feel comfortable enough to begin shading CG style now. I'm so excited. This is the time I've been waiting for and I'm finally have the guts to do it. =^_^= It will probably take a while before I post the finished product. Nyah! I wasn't sure if I should post this here...but I thought since I posted the ink lines here. It makes sense to post the color here too.

Hi there Samapuma!
Since you're looking at drawing some submission images for Transfur, I thought I'd comment directly and give you a bit of feedback. I'm not an artist, but I might be able to point you in the right direction as to what we'd be looking for.
First off, I like the fact the image is clean - you obviously put time into cleaning up all of the image's background "artifacts". I get a lot of submissions with bad scans and lines . The cleanup is definately important.
The perspective of the body seems a bit off to me in a few places, but nothing that I would flag as extremely serious - so please don't take that the wrong way! You're experimenting with some creative poses that are more difficult to draw, and I really appreciate that.
The tail seems a little off to me - Kangaroo tails are big and thick - all tails are extensions of the spine. Given that kangaroo tails are fairly rigid, for it to appear at that angle it would probably need to be broken - I don't think they're as flexible as, say, a monkey or a cat tail. Maybe try changing the angle of the tail and making it a *bit* less flexible in this case.
I don't see anything wrong with the base coloring at this point, considering you'll be doing a lot of work shading! It might help to add a bit more definition between where the fur ends and the skin begins - right now it looks like different colored fur or skin, not fur growing over skin.
I would do a bit more work on the eyes though - I think they're not as strong as the rest of the image. I realize that eyes are *extremely* difficult to draw, but a lot of practice and tutorials would go a HUGE way towards your growth as an artist.
Looking at some of your other images, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/575321/ is a great example of coloring and overall design. Again, I'd do a bit more practice on the eyes, but other than that it would definately meet the base requirements at Transfur.
Your skill has grown quite a bit since I last saw your work - keep up the good work! I hope you don't take this comment as being overly negative - I just thought it would help you!
Nothing makes me happier than artists working to improve their talent - awesome!

Hmm, I get the 'tail' problem, but the eyes... Are you saying they should be more realistic like? or something else? Please explain in more detail. I have stylized eyes, so I wouldn't be changing them unless I changed my art style. Though, I am willing to listen to what you have to say. I could just use a different eye design on Transfur and keep the one I have now for my other sites.
Hi!! Long time no see! I hope you are doing well?

Thanks for the in depth comment. It's comments like these that make artists better. =^_^=

Hmmmm it's not the style at all. I'm not an artist so it's difficult for me to give exact feedback...
Looking at the left eye, the iris seems lopsided. I'm not a biology student, but I'm pretty sure all eyes are symmetrical in some way - ie/ perfectly round or oval in shape. The way the iris is curved on the left eye makes it seem strange.
I believe that most mammals (humans included) are hard-wired to notice facial anomalies like that - thats why it makes the overall image seem strange.
Even with (most) stylized anime eyes, the pupils are centered within the irises and round. (although obviously they might be oval or narrow for certain species of animals).
If you're interested in the science of this, you could take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_symmetry.
Obviously it's not a rule per-se: part of the fun of art is obviously trying different things that aren't possible in nature.
