Follow-up of THIS -- wherein a grim, dark fantasy world is turned light-hearted and friendly after a team of grizzled mercs stumble into an evil cultist whose world-destroying spell went... different than they intended.

“Get the hell offa me! Hey, someone do something, I don’t know this lady!!”
“Oh hush now. Honestly... stealing weaponry from your own family, gallivanting with commoners, and now causing such a scene. So unbecoming...”
The team hadn’t been in town for long. They had just gotten caught up in a big market, and were in awe of how much things had changed. It was definitely the same town, all the streets were in the same place. But...
Well for starters, stuff wasn’t just getting stolen. The market was being held in a square where the stockades used to be set up; There was a library where the prison used to be, and a school where the mercenaries guild should be. Everything was so well maintained, not to mention how much bigger it all looked from their new perspective.
And everyone… all turned to animal people, as far as they could see. Marzi whispered to the group, that it was odd no-one seemed to be panicking… did they not even realise what had happened?
"Are... are we the only ones who remember?"
Kit started to say that he had a bad feeling, that they shouldn’t be there for some reason, maybe they should go down the eastern path instead— when Brooke talked over him: “Maybe we’re different ‘cause we were so close to the spell. That’s why we-”
“Brooke Seraphina Parish!” The name sent shivers down her spine as a figure pushed through the crowd— then there was a woman in front of her. She was dressed finely, looking like a taller, regal version of herself-- glaring down at her harshly.
Brooke wasn’t able to react before her rapier was snatched away, and she had been grabbed by the ear.
“You are in so much trouble, young lady.” Brooke's mother didn’t yell, but she didn’t need to—her strict, perpetually disappointed tone was impossible to ignore.
The others… well, they *wanted* to do something as they watched their leader get dragged away, flailing and yelling. But, well, everyone was staring…
They’d hardly learned anything yet, and what were they gonna do, start a fight in town? They’d agreed the plan was to keep a low profile...
Hi! I actually had the art for this one done first, before I realised that taking so much time on the art wasn't gonna be possible long term, and that this maybe need a bit more lead-in. So then I made the first one. So, I was gonna post this way sooner, but i was delayed, for reasons!! But now that those reasons are over here it is!
I think that particularly the most fun thing about reality shift is the characters having to figure out what sorta people they've been "re-cast" as. You don't see a lot of like, the characters having to learn how the world now expects them to be different people -- So like, these kids prolly have parents, I thought. So here's one of them, Brooke's mom -- bad first impression.

Cute, but…I’m admittedly a little worried for these guys. Especially with the depression we saw earlier, I…
*shudder*
Not gonna lie, it is cute, I’m just. Worried for them. Maybe because of my own IRL depressive issues, idk… eh.
*ahem* with that out of the way - is this Brooke’s actual mother, changed for the new world, or not? That could prove to have some big effects. Personally, I’m hoping for changed mother, even if they weren’t around at the time the spell was cast. Maybe some hints that it’s actually her, maybe even a hint that she might remember some more than most, maybe due to, ah, revival. Or familial relations. Just spitballing at this point.
Am curious what happens next… and a bit anxious, ngl. Let’s see how it goes!
