Commentary:
This page may not be a huge reason for why this chapter is called "Crash Course", but it's a big reason for ME to call this chapter "Crash Course". Even aside from this page, there's generally been a lot of expository pages. And since I have a new character that's not up to speed with things, I get to have Olaf explain all of this.

I don't think I've explained much about how this gem stuff in-universe, but that's mostly because not everything is directly relevant for the story. Dracmore isn't even after Solarite or Gaianite, for example. I mostly relied on the reader just inferring all this info specially because I knew this page was going to exist eventually anyway.

I also had the reasons listed in the last panel for why Tygo was never taught any spells until Rikku did so off screen in chapter 23. Lucky for Tygo tho, he ended up getting a spell way earlier than planned thanks to the twins having their Emblems confiscated and later given to Auda and Tygo.
