Yes, their species can climb. Do they, usually? No. But Zaany wasn't born, or raised, among them. Zaany didn't even grow up in this form. So an elf who kept high to keep out of trouble has now turned into a dog who will do much the same ... until it gets too big. Can't let that happen, now, can we?
