Zelig Niklaus - Mann-Drache
"Good evening gentlemen."
Yea, I should prolly note why this character is drawn as a human instead of the rest. Well there's two reasons; 1. This character is not infact human, but a race resembling humans. 2. The other characters may be later drawn as human to appeal to non-anthro fans if these characters really do pick off the ground, so to speak.
Also this character had actually been conceived years ago, still posted on my deviantart gallery. This is a revision of the character and placing him in a new, altered reality. So let's look into one of my favorite early creations; Mann-Drache.

Zelig Niklaus, also known as the legendary Mann-Drache is a demon of unknown origin "discovered" by the Thule society in Nazi Germany. During a ritual pertaining to various dark tomes owned by German aristocrat Ludwig Niklaus in an attempt to bring forth the army of darkness in preparation for the Third Reich's eventual onset of war on the world, what they conjured to this plane of existence was an injured creature; like a woman, only with large wings and horns protruiding from the sides of her head. The being itself succumbed to irregular wounds, in its cradles arms resting an infant wrapped up in blankets. The child appeared almost completely human, save for small stumps on its back and yellowish-orange, burning eyes.
Ludwig Niklaus decided to keep the cadaver of the assumed mother of the infant for study while he kept the infant, placing it in the care of his young wife Angela, who raised the little one as if he were her son.
With the Reich setting up the playing field for war, Ludwig enlisted the child, named Zelig, into the military. During regular check-ups and incidental occurences, Zelig gained the ability to fly using the wings growing from his back, which in only months after discovery grew wide enough to encompass his size and kept to the afore ratio to his body. He also exhibited strngth and resilience far surpassing regular individuals as well as an increased healing factor, any wound he'd sustained closing up instantly. As if by instinct, Zelig's most remarkable ability was the power to control fire, aka "pyrokinesis".
With the onset of World War II, Zelig, dubbed the Flying Devil by the Allied forces, due to his superior battle prowess, rose through the ranks of the German military and landed in the position of Oberst (collonel) and became a living legend, in Germany as the Reich's salvation and on the Allied side the harbinger of doom.
However, despite his fame and renown, Zelig was troubled. Regarding the morality and cruelty of the Nazis, particularly the treatment of the Jews, he began to question his position as a person, or as a weapon of the Reich and whether or not he was even regarded equal to his peers.
His step-mother Angela, during one rainy night was apprehended trying to sneak Jewish prisoners out of the country and trialed for treason against the Reich. During the trial, due to Zelig's interference a scuffle broke out, leading to the death of Angela, and Zelig himself was shot several times all around the body. Thought dead, the Nazis regarded Zelig a valuable asset up to that point, assuming they would survive the rest of the war without their thrall. However, as if by a miracle, Zelig arose from the floor, the bullets gushing out of his wounds as they healed right beofre everyone's eyes. In a bout of rage Zelig incinerated the courtroom and slaughtered anyone who had managed to survive the fire.
Taking Angela's body with him, Zelig fled Berlin and laid low in the countryside, the sound of military vehicles and cannonfire inthe distance his only companion. Remembering the kindness and tender love of his step-mother, Zelig honored her memory by burning her corpse and spreading the ashes into the wilderness with the draft from his wings. Afterwards Zelig was determined to avange the Nazis for using him. Covertly making his way out of German controlled lands, he arrived in England and threw his lot in with the British military, proving his allegiance by taking part in several hazardous missions, some only by himself. Zelig also took part in commandeering the Rising at Normandy and the liberation of France, afterwards being approached by the renowned witchcraft and occult specialist Cecil Williamson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecil_Williamson) and General Archibald Alistair, with the proposition of establishing an organization dedicated to rooting out dark forces unleashed upon the world and destroying them. With the war on the brink of Allied victory, Zelig decided to "disappear" from the wat altogether, not wanting to become an iconic figure in a war of a world he did not originate from. With his approval, the three founded the MI6 division PIC, the Paranormal Investigation Council.
Over the years Zelig took part in scouring the world of evil, his travels taking him to the furthest reaches of the world. Though intent on eradicating supernatural threats to the world now considered his home, he also came upon benevolent creatures whom he personally drafted into PIC.
In the modern day, his lack of aging suggesting longevity or possibly immortality, Zelig continues his work as a paranormal investigator, under the leadership of Archibald Alistair's grandson Alvin, along with his fellow superhuman allies.
Powers and abilities:
"Flight": With his large and powerful wings, both about the same size of his body, Zelig can soar and glide effortlessly in the air.
"Marksmanship": Due to his military background, Zelig is one of the most efficient marksmen in the world. What is unique about his use in firearms is the insistence of using old pre- and post World War II arms. He continues to wield a Mauser C96 pistol, the same one he was once gifted by the German military before the war, though customized to accomodate larger ammunition (by his own words, the less bullets, the better), as well as an American Thompson M1A1 sub-machinegun, a Russian Mosin-Nagant and dual sawed off shotguns. In addition to regular ammo, Zelig utilizes specially made ammunition, ranging from silver bullets, to chemical rounds.
"Pyrokinesis": Zelig can conjure fire from thin air and utilize it in a myriad of ways. He can launch fireballs with great force to strike at enemies from adistance, as well as spreading flames akin to a flamethrower. Though controlled seemingly by his will alone, this power is affected by his state of mind; the more stressed his mind becomes, the more sporradic his control becomes.
"Regeneration": Zelig has an abnormally fast healing factor. Like a reptile, Zelig can recover from wounds at a rapid rate and even regrow severed limbs.
