Hello everyone!
I received the commission from Lambda16b to draw Misty Brightdawn from "My Little Pony - Tell your Tale/ Make your Mark" in the way that I drew the previous new characters! I don't think I ever fully drew Misty (I had to abandon a traditional piece of her a while ago sadly), so this is an amazing chance and I hope you as well as the commissioner will enjoy this result!
It was definitely an interesting task and also very exciting to draw Misty as she is an outstanding and very pretty character with also quite a few details to her, that makes her unique in her appearance. Aside from the fact of course, that I always have fun drawing ponies, I'm very happy I got a chance and reason to draw her, as well! So coming back to my old style of character posters for the G5 cast of MLP, I tried my best to replicate it and make her look colourful and pretty! As you probably can imagine, her mane and tail were the most time consuming things to work on and I have to admit, it did take me quite a while, even if compared to some other recent artworks it looks a bit simpler. I think I found a relatively good balance when it comes to the style of it being not too overly detailed and yet detailed enough. I also adored working with her colours as the gradient is a very pretty touch! What do you think of this piece? Would you say it fits in well with the other illustrations of the main cast I created previously? Let me know your thoughts on this artwork!
