#SharkWeek #Sketchweek is at an end but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop! For the last one, and under much last-minute duress due to helping mom with her garden, I got to draw one more big #shark before the morning was through: the sand tiger shark!
Though they might look terrifying with all of their rows of teeth getting pushed out, the sand tiger is really a docile and slow-moving creature and can be usually found at any aquarium with a shark exhibit. They only share a name with the small-tooth sand tiger shark and while they may look like nurse sharks, they are wholly unrelated.
Sand tiger sharks will often be observed eating garbage and can sometimes be found following cargo and passenger ships close to the shore. One of them was even found with a license plate in its stomach! This is reflected here in this artpiece as Razz the thresher is seen admonishing one for bogarting the trash can. Their usual diet are bony fish, crustaceans, squid, skates, and other sharks.
Thanks for coming with me through shark week, now I can finally rest!
