Looking into the mesmerizing eyes of Heraldine Cuttlefish I was transported back to Cape Cod, where Heraldine and myself would sit out by the water and let the cool autumn air breathe life back into us. There, by the glistening shore, we’d pet each other and I would massage her beautifully calloused feet.
Later, by the fire, in her stunning colonial house, I would feed her pickled pig snout and whisper a choir of sensual nothings in her ear. By the end of our weekends together my lovely Heraldine would always try to devour me, being a Gorgon and all, but I would always arrest her murderous rage by spinning Coldplay on the Phonograph. Boy, did she love Coldplay.
