When I was super little I spent a lot of time at my nan and grandads and sadly we didn't see much of grandad due to his work, but when he was around I remember I tried to draw with him constantly! We would sit at the kitchen table as he sketches some trees in the garden and I try and copy him, not sure if it was the most polite thing given I also copied his shake hands but I was young and just fascinated by what he did.
Well thats one of the earliest drawing activities I remember, drawing trees with grandad. Pretty sure if that never happened I might not draw as much as I do now.
Soooooo.. for grandads birthday I'm makeing 2 coasters.
The first will have a pencil drawing, I wanted the original ones to copy but I don't know where grandad keeps them. The second will be this drawing. Where is started and where I am now, and a little heart to show how he planted this affinity to drawing.
Think this is a nice idea myself, but we will see.

(Side note, I haven't drawn many trees since going digital with my drawings soo... I genuinely had to learn how for this one and heavily used my memories on how me and grandad used to draw. Tried to copy the Shakey hand and everything. The leaf's were the hardest part as I had the urge to line art them all, but.. no. Thats not what I would have done and i'm glad I trusted past me/grandad. Smarter folk than current me)
