Lindremon and Trevor kinda remind of Jellymon and Kiyoshiro from Digimon Ghost Game. Not the sexual aspects of course. Lord no. More that Jellymon is the dominant partner. She pretty much forced Kiyoshiro to be her partner, but they're calling each other darling soon enough. He's kind of a coward, so it's pretty much comic relief.
The partner Digimon are more independent in Ghost Game and have their own lives for the most part, so it's not quite the same kind of relationship most Tamers have.
