Some things never change.
It seems for this time, Tani is back at being Verosika's bodyguard (Vortex is fine), years after she left when the succubus popstar went to rehab. While Ver is more than happy to have her old flame back at her side, she's surprised when Tani takes out a target in such a gruesome and explosive way, with a special type of ammo for Entropy. Could it be that her near-death facing the Root of Evil, Roo, impacted Tani more than she expected?
A short description for the pic itself, inspired by the awesome Andor series, but you'll get to have some more behind-the-scenes lore about it right now:
Verosika is quite the important part for Tani's history in the Hellaverse as not only was she her first employer, before Carmilla Carmine, but she was also her lover. However, at the time, Tani didn't want a serious relationship, so when Verosika confessed her love to her, Tani gently rejected her. While it greatly saddened Verosika, the two remained close friends with benefits and Tani kept being her bodyguard, even when the succubus started dating the imp Blitzø.
When she thought she was finally getting over her love for Tani and confessed to Blitzø, the imp broke up with her in the worst way, leaving her heartbroken again, Tani was here to comfort her, which also caused Verosika's lingering feelings for her bodyguard to flare up again, leaving her conflicted and feeling guilty, but they became unresolved as she progressively got worse mentally and was sent to rehab and Tani had to leave to find another job.
While they kept in contact, their relationship wasn't the same anymore and they weren't seeing each other physically anymore, with Tani unaware Verosika started to love her again.
Eventually, Tani would face against the Root of Evil and almost die in the process were it not for Tani's new lover, the seraphim Emily. As the duel was being broadcasted across Hell by Roo herself to serve as an example, Verosika saw it and watched her former lover almost getting her heart ripped off before getting urgently brought back to the Hazbin Hotel, her fate uncertain. Verosika didn't hesitate and rushed to see Tani incognito, hoping to see her before the worst could happen.
As far as it was known, Tani was still alive when she entered the Hotel, but critically injured and losing a lot of blood, her wounds barely able to heal, despite Emily's help, due to the evil of Roo infesting them.
It isn't known what was said between the two in that Hotel room or even if Tani was even conscious back then, as most of Hell presumed her having expired shortly after disappearing from the cameras. But Tani had indeed resurfaced later, seemingly healthy again, with a new outfit as her previous suit was utterly destroyed beyond repair during the duel, and she was seen several times with Verosika, sometimes acting as one of her bodyguards. Verosika herself was spotted visiting the Hotel several times as well, leaving others wondering what she was doing in there.
