Everyone has a right to create what they want, if you don't like it, that's your choice, but it really isn't your place to say stuff like this. Just shake your head, keep your opinion to yourself, and move on.
As for the art itself? Absoutely a neat way to transition reality like that as an in-universe explanation, and bonus points for nailing the quirky nature of the franchise she got shunted to. 4th wall breakage for the win. Lovely design too!
