Its the scene of the city at the start of the story.
Despite being the first scene in the story, where Ezin is rushing through Unchantis, having just received word of his mission to the island, this art was created last.
It was because I was still using copyrighted / placeholder artwork.
For a while, I thought for it to be a VN-style work, then as the story grew so large I thought it may need to be a written story only.
In the end, I think both are ideal. Because this story is my biggest project yet, there is a lot of emotion in it, so the emotion can only be expressed through video and sound. That's why I wanted to continue the VN-style element, at least. It is nice that after so long Chapter 1 is finally released.
I will finish all the chapters and the full story in around 3-6 months.
Do look forward to Chapter 2 (VN-style version) releasing in the next month or so.
When I was creating the VN-style element for Chapter 1, I always knew I would place an emphasis on sound rather than music this time. It was a bit worrisome, and I was worried readers would get bored reading it, but when I watched it myself, and I immersed myself in the sounds and atmosphere that I had created thanks to the wonderful artwork that is made, it made me feel like all the wait and effort was really worth it.
When Ezin finally reaches the island, and the music plays while the art of the island transitions on screen, it really left an impression on me. When I was writing this story, I didn't expect the opening to be as vivid and impactful as it was. So, when I do start working on the VN-style element, I tend to let myself get in the mood and improve the original draft. It ended up being a high quality work of which I'm proud.
It's pretty late to say, but yes, its the same Unchantis as in my novel series. I did re-release Part 1 recently.
