Sketchfab description
A heavy, bolt-action laser rifle developed by Thanoid Action LLC in collaboration with ArcJet Systems and deployed in late 2076. Designed after CEO John Thanoid saw the potential in an abandoned Big Mountain prototype, this weapon fires a blindingly hot laser—10x more intense than Liberty Prime’s. It uses a unique integrated battery pack (not microfusion cells), and features a bipod, scope, and advanced design that almost resembles a military-grade camera.
Only around 1,500 were produced and deployed across every state and commonwealth, with a larger concentration in Anchorage. Thanoid strictly limited it to military use due to its extreme power, refusing civilian sales.
Production was halted by the Great War, and a final shipment destined for Appalachia never arrived—lost in the chaos just days before the bombs fell.
Inspired by the real-life PHASR dazzler, this is my own reimagining blending Fallout lore with unique military sci-fi design.
Extended lore and description
A big and hefty looking laser rifle with a bolt action mechanism not to mention that it is also quite heavy when picked up and also it seems to be pre-equipped with a scope and a bipod not to mention it also looks like a camera or strangely advanced weapon that could’ve been developed by the enclave Also when this weapon is fired at fires, a very, very powerful laser that you do user can kind of sort of feel the heat from it unlike other laser weapons and also this laser seems to be extremely devastating. Not to mention that this weaponed doesn’t seem to use any microfusion cells or fusion cores but instead it uses a custom battery pack that looks like a part of the barrel despite looking like something, the enclave would make. There is one little detail that throws a wrench theory, because on closer inspection on the receiver there is an engraving on the weapon which says thanoid action llc how did this weapon come to be? Developed by well thanoid action llc and was deployed sometime around December 2076 this weapon was well create did after the CEO of thanoid action aka John Thanoid was at a military meeting with other officials, and this meeting was about a weapon that was developed by big mountain and well despite despite this weapon doing as it was, said, most of the military contractors didn’t go through with it just due to the fact that most of them were somewhat terrified of it and also they just use too much power and other reasons, however, John Thanoid saw it as something that could be useful on the battlefield so so basically, John Thanoid called gunsmithing department of thanoid action LLC and asked for some type of anti-material laser weapon that uses a special type of fusion, cell or core and also make sure that the laser of the weapon is well 10 times. Brighter and hotter than liberty primes lasers and well despite many questions by people in the department, they decided we could probably do something so they went to work in well after let’s just say after five years and a collaboration with arc jet systems, which, for some reason, didn’t wanna be credited for their collaboration, with thanoid they finally made the weapon and let’s just say that John Thanoid was impressed by the weapon. In fact, it looked pretty cool and not to mention it was everything John Thanoid wanted and then well afterwards there was a meeting on what they call the weapon first some people wanted to call the anti-material laser rifle but that name was thrown out immediately because well it felt to generic and a little bit too long then another idea was thrown out there the anti-matter rifle. However, after some thinking it was, it was pretty much obvious that this thing was not an antimatter gun nor did they have the technology to do that and they call it that would kind of be like false advertising and sort of lying so and there was one guy who also wanted to call it the Secret Service laser rifle, which you know cause everyone to look at him awkwardly but anyway John Thanoid just said what’s this called the anti-atomic rifle and well that name stuck, despite not having anything atoms or an atomic anything because I didn’t shoot out radiation the weapon was still given that name because it was short punch in sound cool and unique so then well after that meeting they didn’t show it to military contractors which were impressed by the weapon and eventually well let’s just say they got the military was sold on the idea of the weapon and well the weapon went into production though there were some and well after that, the marketing department thought they were gonna have a field day, marketing it to civilians however, John Thanoid did step in and said no unlike the thunder and the tall-81 because well, unlike these two weapons, one being a survival tool and the other, just being a novelty firearm John Thanoid just straight up said this thing fires a laser that is 10 times hotter in brighter than liberty primes lasers. Reminder they make it look like a small laser pointer and also giving a I think it would be a little bit overkill to give a civilian that, and well no one argued with Thanoid and they were kind of surprised but they did realize yeah that’s probably not a good idea If so, the weapon was only meant for military contracts and that’s kind of it and well. It didn’t start production in December 2076 but it didn’t seem much use although there were around 1500 deployed for every state or commonwealth and there were a lot more deployed in Anchorage and well the weapon well doing its job and also worked perfectly fine John Thanoid thought it could use a little bit of customization for whatever reason he thought that so he called up the gun smithing department and asked to make some maybe well modification for soldiers and whatever like maybe four different purposes or serve different uses and weld. The team went to work, and eventually they did develop a lot of different barrels, battery packs, sights and under barrel modifications, as well as a antenna modification despite all these modifications being made, there were still some complaints from people who were using them for training or other purposes and well some of these complaints included poor handling on vehicles, because there was an incident during a training session were one slipped and accidentally created a new window base commander’s office as well as the well proprietary sight attachment, or people just losing the top scope, in general somehow and then there was one guy who just kept sending hundreds of letters that he wants to put an AR stock on it and well. After some consideration, they decided to well fix these problems, which came in the second wave of modifications a special barrel modification that could be used for vehicle support and turn any vehicle into a makeshift tank as well as a adapter that just attaches a Picatinny rail on the weapon which makes compatible with any normal scopes and sights and also helped with other and also just to make that guy stop sending thousands of letters per day who even who even has time to write all these leathers, they decided to make a attachment that could support stocks from assault carbines or assault rifles and well things are looking up the final shipment was shipped to Appalachia and things were just looking up not to mention they were reverse engineering. Stealth boys to make a mark two version of the anti-atomic rifle and they also made a mascot name atlas and well things were looking up from there however before anymore advancements could well tragedy struck and everything was put on hold because on October 23, 2077 the great war happened and well let’s just say that it’s making if the little engraving on the weapon throws a wrench in a theory, the great war through the entire toolbox into the machine, and it exploded because well, despite thanoid action surviving the great war, the production on the anti-atomic rifle was put on. Just due to the lack of well funding and resources so they just put a whole stop all together in the schematics were thrown into a wall somewhere some safe somewhere that John Thanoid only knows where it is and can enter and but the biggest thing was the lack of resources, because after the war, there wasn’t really much that thing with action to do however they just decided to keep working on their other stuff like there thunder and tall-81 however, this did not stop the weapon from being used because well and the new found post-war world the anti-atomic rifle Saul a lot of use by well waste landers, and other factions like the brotherhood and surprisingly the Institute. However, there is one story that we have to mention that did happen a week before the war a Chinese soldier somehow for saw the great war happening, not to mention that tensions were escalating at a extreme rate, and not to mention this guy was already disillusion with his side was handling things not to mention how people on both sides were being extremely mistreated he decided to run from Anchorage and well let’s just say he snuck into a military storage where he found a anti-atomic rifle that was being repaired which he took, as well as sneaking around a damaged battlefield, and finding a chimera tank, where he ripped off the top of and well through some jury-rigging He managed to make a somewhat powerful weapon and well let’s just say he was caught by both sides and he ran for it. He stole a boat and well and he had really no idea what direction he was going so somehow someway, he ended up somewhere near the state of Maine, where he was next to an island before well the bombs and eventually the weird makeshift weapon he made ended up on the shores of far harbor and another prewar incident did occur where the final shipment heading to Appalachia didn’t make it just due to the fact, the bombs fell, it was supposed to arrive on October 28, 2077, but well let’s just say the war happen to add the final there was there was only one weapon that was in that truck which was well the first part of the shipment, which was just one rifle and some battery packs but that didn’t make it so now we jump back to the postwar world despite manufacturing of this weapon being halted there were still a few things that happened around this time and well thanks to waste landers being efficient there were a few unofficial modifications made for example, some Wastelanders didn’t like how heavy the weapon was so they decided to Saul down the barrel and remove the stock to make a small pistol version of the weapon, although this did affect the range of the weapon obviously as well as the intent to modification, being well, broken in on purpose and re-purpose into a makeshift bayonet just as a few examples of things, some Wastelanders dead to make this weapon work in the post war world and well let’s just say thanoid action offered a new service where well worn or broken anti-atomic rifles would be refurbished and repaired not to mention the anti-atomic rifle became a legend throughout the wasteland and well there were still some factions although, despite the weapon, not being manufactured anymore, didn’t stop some fractions and individuals for using the weapon as a base to make a offshoot of this weapon, because well in the wasteland homebrewing is kind of an essential skill to have so individuals like Isabel Cruz for making her own version that used a oversized vacuum tube, which she called a vacuum chamber not to mention the Institute they first saw the weapon, they thought it was an anti-matter gun. However, there soon realize it was anti-atomic for some reason one scientist kind of got mad at this, so decided to make his own version which he successfully did and it well let’s just say this thing packs nova sized punch as extremely nerdy enclave scientist, who made functional version of a weapon that he saw a movie as well, not to mention the mark two, which was made under the project name, atlas well, let’s just say that thanks to Atlas being kind of a comic book mascot care of he for Thanoid action certain individuals in the wasteland thought that atlas was a real person especially raiders who thought well atlas was one of the greatest East Coast Raiders to ever live and well a certain individual with a redeye keeps telling a false, tale about someone who never existed but the truth is atlas, was a mascot and a weapon not a raider also and finally for the last shipment, which let’s just say people haven’t been able to get to it because of the robots and the well what’s the top of the line sentry bot who was hardcoded to guard the weapon no matter what and this robot also use some extremely experimental and unstable weapons at this robot has and the other robots however, let’s just say a certain vault dweller that was put on ice eventually got their hands on that last shipment and well, that is the overarching legacy of the Thanoid action anti-atomic rifle. So anyways hey guys I’m back I decided to upload this model finally well I finished it and well. I think it turned out pretty well anyways I just wanna mention that this weapon is heavily inspired by a lot of things like the anti-material rifle from fallout new Vegas, as well as like drone guns those things look wacky. I went down a rabbit hole of those as well as the phasr was the biggest inspiration, I know there is a mod that kind already exists but this is my take on it and mine is fundamentally way different. Also, I want to give a huge credit to primnull I used some of his art as inspiration for some modification so anyways yeah that’s kind of all I want to talk about and I mean I guess it is on time technically, I know I’ve been a little bit quiet all things considered but honestly I don’t really need to update you guys I feel like constantly about on how the progress my model also, I am going to say it again. Yes, this weapon is heavily inspired by the PHASR which is a The personal halting and stimulation response rifle which yes, this is a real gun that was developed by the military in real life, but it is if this was a dazzler used to disorient people or blind but oh well, let’s just say that didn’t go anywhere and also my version is very lethal.
